Clinical Psychologist

Dr Stephanie Summers is an experienced Clinical Psychologist who has worked within NHS Neurodevelopmental and Learning Disability services since she qualified from the University of East Anglia in 2009.

Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience of working with neurodiverse individuals. She has specific expertise in understanding neurodiversity in the context of early attachment disruption and trauma, as well as co-occurring mental health difficulties.

Stephanie is skilled in the delivery of standardised assessments such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), the Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R), the Autism Clinical Interview for Adults (ACIA), the Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in young people (Young DIVA-5) and the QB Test for ADHD.

Stephanie provides thorough, compassionate assessments that respect the neurodiverse identity of each person.  She uses a person centred, trauma informed and culturally sensitive approach to assessment and is passionate about supporting others to understand their differences and strengths, and to feel good about who they are.

Stephanie continues to lead a specialist NHS Neurodevelopmental Service for children and young people alongside her private practice.
