Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
Helen qualified in 2012 at Reading University. She initially worked in Yorkshire supporting pre-school and school aged children, covering a large geographical area working in nurseries, children’s centres, schools and clinic. She then moved to London for 6 years, working at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust. Helen worked with pre-school and school aged children as well as adults with a wide range of linguistic and communicative difficulties. She moved to Norfolk in 2020, initially working for Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust and then joined ISLTS Ltd.
Helen provides both assessment and therapy, working with people on an individual basis, in small groups, through whole class work and in joint sessions with other professionals involved. Helen runs sessions in different locations depending on individual needs. She has experience in training parents/carers, teaching staff and all involved. Helen works jointly with all professionals, providing a holistic, person-centred approach.
Helen has completed her dysphagia competencies and has experience supporting adults with complex eating and drinking difficulties. She helps patients and their families to understand safe swallowing strategies, providing compensatory strategies or adaptative techniques.Helen has excellent knowledge of assessment and intervention and is committed to professional development. She uses evidence-based practice to ensure high-quality care.
