Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
Carissa qualified with a First Class BSc (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of East Anglia in 2017.
Carissa is experienced in the assessment and treatment of clients with a wide range of clinical needs. She works with a varied caseload and provides therapy intervention to clients on an individual basis, within small groups and as part of a multidisciplinary team with other professionals.
Carissa undertakes continuing professional development (CPD) and has completed a range of further training courses, including:
- Down Syndrome Education International course ‘Improving Speech and Language Development for Children and Young People with Down Syndrome’
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) including a Level 4 Elklan accredited course
- Makaton Foundation Workshop
- Picture Exchange Communication System training (PECS)

Carissa has a wide range of professional interests with a particular focus on AAC and Down Syndrome.
