Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
Karen qualified with a BSc Hons in Language and Communication Sciences from City University, London in 2004, having previously worked in the Royal Air Force, Police Force and as a teaching assistant in different schools.
Karen provides speech and language assessment and therapy, working with clients on an individual basis, in small groups, through whole class work and in joint sessions with other professionals. She provides training to parents, school staff and other professionals.
For three years Karen was an honorary lecturer at City University in London.
Karen has completed a diploma in Trauma and Mental Health Informed Schools training and is a Certified Trauma and Mental Health-Informed Schools Practitioner.
Karen continues to update her knowledge and skills by attending CPD (Continuing Professional Development) courses, having regular supervision, accessing online courses in Safeguarding, reading research papers and accessing information from the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
